Tis the season of beauty sections brimming with advice on how to stay slim, keep fit and have soft skin and a tanned complexion. Yet no one has explained how to hone that irresistible weapon of seduction and persuasion – our smile.
So it became my journalistic mission to explore this topic in an article that is accurate, informative and concise! I decided to get in touch with the most innovative dental practice on the map – in Switzerland – whose experts know all there is to know about our smiles. “We believe a healthy smile is the key to a fulfilling lifestyle.” As I approached Quai du Mont-Blanc in Geneva, I wondered whether Doctor Eduardo de la Torre’s boutique clinic could live up to its ambitious claim.
The patients in this revolutionary practice all seemed totally relaxed as they went to and fro, accompanied by the clinic’s staff, from a treatment room to a state-of-the-art X-ray facility, or from a library offering one of the finest views over Lake Geneva to the spacious photo-video studio.
Determined to find out more, I interviewed some of the patients about their experience at the clinic.
“Even the anaesthetic is digital and completely pain-free,” says Caroline, who is seeking treatment for a severe case of periodontal disease: “This is the first time I’ve spoken to a dentist who understands the aesthetics as well as they do the medical side of things – and who actually takes their time.”
Struck by the sheer motivation of every last patient I interviewed, all became clear when I left my microphones lying around near the photography studio.
Thanks to the DSD (Digital Smile Design) process, each patient can try on a prototype of their new smile before starting treatment. What follows is a remarkable and highly emotional photo shoot: in a few short minutes, you’re given your very own Cinderella smile!
Now that I have your attention, let’s leave it here for this week! Find out more in the next edition of Paris Match Suisse.
