In an exclusive setting, Dr. Eduardo de la Torre, CEO and founder of Smile Design Boutique, talks about his career path and his passion. He is not afraid to break with traditional dentistry codes and adapt to today’s needs. .

With a stylish décor and calculated design, the dental clinic on Quai du Mont-Blanc is a haven of luxury, where patients are welcomed and cared for with a smile…which they are only too happy to return. The idea of a clinic combining design and cutting-edge technology was the brainchild of Dr. Eduardo de la Torre. “I represent the third generation of dentists in my family.” After a lengthy pause he continues, “Practising dentistry like my grandfather and my father…what would you have done in my shoes?” Eduardo is the rebellious child, it was out of the question for him to reproduce the family model which took a classical approach to dental medicine, deciding instead to reinvent himself.

This young dentist with a touch of the adventurer about him and passionate about design and architecture, decided to travel the world and started to observe everything happening around him. “I went to get inspired, to learn and discover what I, as a dentist, could offer people. I concluded that humanity, empathy, joy and a smile were what I was looking for.”

The clinic is based on the model of aboutique hotel, more of a place to get together than a healthcare facility. “Here, the relationship with patients is not established as they lie back in the dentist’s chair with instruments in their mouth, but on a comfortable sofa over a gourmet coffee.”

Eduardo de la Torre decided to give medical engineering a bit of a face lift by making use of the latest innovations in the field. “Thanks to our 100% digital processes, our patients can discover and experiment with their new smiles in a video before their treatment begins. It is the intensity of this moment that helps to establish the emotional connection between the dentist and the patient,” explains Maxime Guer, head of marketing and communication.

The clinic boasts state of-the-art equipment and a photo studio which has already been hired by several fashion magazines. Amid all this technology, the patient remains very much the focus of attention! The power of this well-oiled machine lies in the planning of the treatment to the nearest millimetre.

The interior inspired by the film The Great Gatsby boasts an elegant and inviting architecture which helps the patient feel at ease. “My passion for design is reflected in the smiles we create. The attention to detail and the robustness of the materials are at the heart of our architectural approach as well as our clinical approach.” .
